Marvel’s Inhumans casts Serinda Swan as Medusa for its bold, new series

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Now this is the casting announcement I've been waiting for! Today, Marvel has anncounced that GRACELAND and BALLERS actress Serinda Swan will star opposite Anson Mount's Black Bolt and Iwan Rheon's Maximus as the Inhuman queen Medusa in the forthcoming INHUMANS television show.

The planned Marvel drama is being written and executively produced by DEXTER alum Scott Buck, who will also serve as the program's showrunner. Roel Reine will direct the first two hours of the series, which is set to be presented first as part of an exclusive deal to screen the program's momentous debut in 1,000 IMAX theaters over Labor Day weekend. That presentation will last for two weeks before extended versions of the episodes hit the airwaves of ABC as part of the network's official Fall lineup.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Medusa, allow me to give you a little bit of background. First, she's amazing, and hands down one of the most commanding and kick ass female characters Marvel has ever produced. She stands tall as the queen of the Inhuman race, and the wife of Black Bolt (Anson Mount). She has a wild head of red hair that she is able to manipulate in the same manner in which people use their hands and fingers, and uses it to creative and visually-stunning ends in her fight against injustice and intergalactic tyranny.

Most recently, Medusa was a founding member of A-Force, an all-female super team lead by She-Hulk, alongside members Dazzler, Nico Minoru of THE RUNAWAYS, Singularity, and Captain Marvel. It's an absolutely fantastic book written by both Margueritte Bennett and Kelly Thompson. I highly recommend that you read it.
