Star Wars: Episode VIII tops survey of most anticipated films of 2017

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

There’s something oddly satisfying about the fact that some of the highest-grossing films to be released these days are sourced from comic books and sci-fi/fantasy. It’s more than okay to let your freak flag of nerdy-ness fly and if the following news is any indication, that’s not going to change anytime soon. Fandango recently held a poll asking audiences what their most anticipated films and actors were of 2017. I’ve included the lists for you below, but suffice it to say, STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII is poised to dominate.

Most-anticipated films:

  • STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII
  • GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
  • BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
  • WONDER WOMAN
  • SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE
  • THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS
  • FIFTY SHADES DARKER
  • LOGAN
  • DESPICABLE ME 3

Given that J-Law and Pratt are high up on those lists, you would’ve thought that PASSENGERS might’ve done better. Then again, a little film called ROGUE ONE has taken the spotlight away from everyone else at the moment. I’m happy to see that folks are eager to see the continuing adventures of Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. How long that hype train might last is anyone’s guess, but I’m going to enjoy the hell out of it while it does!

STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
