Hannibal Buress joins Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in Baywatch

Although I am aware of the Baywatch television series and the various tropes it spawned, I've never actually seen so much as a single episode of it. Despite this, there's something about Dwayne Johnson's upcoming feature-film reboot of the show which is keeping my interest; perhaps its Johnson himself, or the surprisingly funny Zac Efron, or it could even be Alexandra Daddario (almost definitely Alexandra Daddario), I can't be sure, I just know that BAYWATCH is a film I want to see, which is a phrase I never thought would come out of my mouth.

Production on BAYWATCH is set to get underway in a little over a week and a few roles are still being cast. THR reports that Hannibal Buress has joined the cast of BAYWATCH. Directed by Seth Gordon, BAYWATCH will focus on "the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Dwayne Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young hotshot former Olympian (Zac Efron) in order to save the beloved bay." Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, and Kelly Rohrbach are also starring in the film and Buress will be playing a member of the local beach community. Dwayne Johnson took it upon himself to welcome Buress to the BAYWATCH team.

BAYWATCH is set for a May 19, 2017 release.
