Paul Walker’s brother Cody joins cast of USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It looks like there is another pair of competing movies covering the same subject matter, this time from two very different perspectives. While Robert Downey Jr is producing a film told from the perspective of a young boy trying to exonerate the captain of the USS Indianapolis, the other will follow a straight ahead plot about the disaster. Starring Nicolas Cage, Thomas Jane, Tom Sizemore, and now Cody Walker, USS INDIANAPOLIS: MEN OF COURAGE is currently in production in Alabama.

Cody Walker, brother of FAST AND FURIOUS’ Paul Walker, will be making his feature acting debut after stepping in to complete scenes for FURIOUS 7 after the untimely death of his brother. Walker joins the naval disaster film which is being directed by Mario Van Peebles. I would not hold my breath for this to be the breakout film in Walker’s career as it reeks of Redbox.

The USS Indianapolis tragedy is best remembered from the classic monologue delivered by Robert Shaw in JAWS but has never been fully portrayed on screen. The brutal shark attacks in the story may be hard for some to stomach but it has the potential to be powerful cinema.

USS INDIANAPOLIS: MEN OF COURAGE is now filming.
