The brilliant minds at Pixar have found a special formula that has worked for them on film after film. Much like Walt Disney during his prime, Pixar has found a magical balance between what makes movies so amazing to experience and doing so for people from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, or gender. With a few missteps along the way, Pixar has managed to create dozens of memorable characters who will last through the history of movies.

Here is our ranking of the ten best characters in Pixar's filmography from TOY STORY through their most recent film, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY. Their latest film, INSIDE OUT, is looking likely to join these very ranks, so let us know if you think we got this list right or if we missed any of your favorites. Feel free to tell us YOUR list in the strikebacks below.

INSIDE OUT is now playing.
