Fans of the original WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER have been excited for the impending prequel series debuting on Netflix this summer, but they are about to get even more anxious with the release of these first photos from the mini-series. WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: First Day of Camp features the cast of the original coming back to play younger versions of their characters despite all being fourteen years older than when they originally played them.
Featuring Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter, WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER was a sleeper hit when it debuted in 2001 and has amassed a cult following since. There are tons of quotable lines in the film and tons of actors who have gone on to stardom, including two superheroes!
Most of the cast looks close to how they did in the original with a couple looking like the last decade and a half has not been very kind (ahem, Janeane Garofalo). Still, Elizabeth Banks and Marguerite Moreau are smoking hot. And someone get me what Ken Marino is drinking because they guy doesn’t age at all.
