Another TV spot for the remake of CARRIE has dropped, teasing the curse of being a teenager with special powers while living with a crazed parent and being forbid to go to Prom. Ah, kids. The Kimberly Peirce helmed reimagining of the Stephen King book (and Brian DePalma film) stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, and Judy Greer looks like it could be a lot of fun and the recent R-rating tags showing up give me hope that it will capitalize on that instead of being a "safe" PG-13 pic for all ages. It's horror, people!

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

With Fede Alvarez's EVIL DEAD scaring up some positive juice for the horror genre, I'm curious if the trend will continue with CARRIE. EVIL DEAD made excellent use of having an R-rating, thankfully, and didn't pull any punches in that regard. I'm not saying CARRIE has to full of buckets of blood (natch), but if it's going to go all in then it needs to go ALL IN.

CARRIE hits theaters on October 18, 2013.
