Guillermo Del Toro's PACIFIC RIM is making its final marketing push before smashing into theaters next month and today we have a look at three clips and two posters that highlight the robots vs. monsters carnage. The clips give you a much better idea of how the battles will go down and highlight the inventiveness we've come to expect in Del Toro's creature designs.

Recently, the film has been in the spotlight, because of tracking numbers that showed Adam Sandler's GROWN UPS 2 beating it at the box office and a number of folks taking to social media to bury the film before it even took its first breath. I don't know that PACIFIC RIM will redefine cinema, but it's one of those ideas that's perfectly suited to a summer audience. Sure, it could be perfectly awful, but based on all I've seen and the talent involved, they'd have to go way out of their way to screw it up.

Here's the clips:

Folks will make up their own mind one way or another when release time comes and determine whether or not we'll see a PACIFIC RIM 2 or a GROWN UPS 3 (or, potentially both). It's just sad to see this baseless trend of dooming a movie to failure before its even been seen. Personally, Del Toro is getting my cash, while Sandler's collection plate will be passed along without it.

PACIFIC RIM hits theaters on July 12, 2013.
