First trailer for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End goes from zero to insanity in less than two minutes

Finally! Some people were dying to see trailers for MAN OF STEEL and THE WOLVERINE and GROWN UPS 2 (kidding…right?), but others, myself included, have been holding on tight to catch a glimpse of Edgar Wright's final chapter to the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy, THE WORLD'S END. And, here it is! Starring Wright regulars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and newcomer Rosamund Pike, the trailer starts off at a subtle pace and builds to batshit crazy insanity, leaving me with only one thought: Must. See. This. Movie.

Drink Responsibly:

The synopsis is simple enough:

Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier unwittingly become humankind's only hope for survival.

As a die hard fan of Wright's, from SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ, and SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, I'm beyond ecstatic to see his signature style back on the big screen and THE WORLD'S END looks like it fits perfectly on the bookshelf of his library. Am I a tad too optimistic? Perhaps. But, I'm cool with that.

THE WORLD'S END starts the crawl on August 23, 2013. Hell of a way to close the summer movie season, eh?
