This is a project clouded in much mystery, but well worth making mention of.
It seems that the Wachowski siblings, also known as the more awesome Wachowski Starship have teamed up with J. Michael Straczynski on a television series titled, SENSE8. There are no plot details since the whole shabang is being kept under tight wraps. All we know is that the series benefits from the “unusual storytelling style” the Wachowskis are known for.
The three have been working on the series for some time now, and have penned three spec scripts for the concept. They are also presently shopping Sense8 around to different networks. Straczynski has television experience with 1990s BABYLON 5 under his belt. This will be a first for the Wachowskis. Both are said to toss about helming duties on the show from time to time when time permits, the latter part is mainly meant for the siblings.
Producer Marc Rosen had this to say on SENSE8, “This project is near and dear to (the Wachowskis and Straczynski’s) heart. I’m so excited and honored that they felt comfortable bringing this to me. This is the kind of project that our company was set up to produce — an idea so big in size and scale that it doesn’t make sense to try it as a pilot. The only way to let the filmmakers realize their vision on something like this is to do multiple episodes.”
