My gift to you this morning: three pieces of promotional art for three very different movies releasing in 2012.

First we have a new poster for Dreamworks’ RISE OF THE GUARDIANS starring Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher, Hugh Jackman, and Jude Law.  The animated tale, which deals with “an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities [who must join forces to protect children everywhere] when an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world,” releases on November 21st.

Next up we have a poster for THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY starring The Hobbit himself, which seems very similar in color/tone/style to this sorts of posters we got back during Lord of the Rings (such as this one starring Aragorn).  Do you think we’re going to be getting more character posters of this ilk in advance of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY‘s December 14th release date?

And finally, thanks to iTunes Movie Trailers, we have the first poster for PROMISED LAND starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, and Frances McDormand. The poster itself simply stars Matt Damon and a pretty landscape/field, because there isn’t really any easy way to market via imagery the question of “to Frack or not to Frack?” PROMISED LAND drills its way into theaters on December 28th.
