After the brutal-but-sorrowful return to form for Gerard Butler that was his performance in CORIOLANUS, I was very excited to see him go toe-to-toe with Gary Oldman in MOTOR CITY. Alas, such a showdown will have to be postponed for the time being as Gary Oldman was forced to drop out of the film due to scheduling commitments. F***ing ROBOCOP, probably.
That being said, Adrien Brody is a lean and mean powerhouse in his own right, so I’m not exactly bummed that he’s the man currently in talks to take over the villain role in the story of “an ex-Army Ranger named John Miller [Butler] [who] is framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Once released from prison, he makes it his new mission to go after the man who framed him [Brody] and stole his true love.”
The Albert Hughes-helmed flick also stars Amber Heard and plans to start shooting in Atlanta next month with an already-planned release month of April.
It was recently observed that I would take any excuse to run a picture of Angelina Jolie. Well, you can definitely say that’s true for Amber Heard too. My eyes will never tire of her.
