Lee Daniels’ next is rounding out a fairly large cast. Now another has been added to the list.
I AM NUMBER FOUR and MAGIC MIKE’S Alex Pettyfer has signed on to play Thomas Westphall. The character, “appears early in the life of Whitaker’s character and has a pivotal influence on the rest of that character’s life.” The film is based on Wil Haygood’s report “A Butler Well Served by This Election”, which centers on Eugene Allen (Whitaker), the White House butler who served eight presidents.

Pettyfer joins Whitaker, David Oyelowo, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Minka Kelly, Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrance Howard, Lenny Kravitz and possibly Vanessa Redgrave who is currently in talks.
Filming begins mid-July in New Orleans.
