New TV spot for Marvel’s The Avengers declares war!

JoBloJoBlo

With almost a month on the nose to go, THE AVENGERS promotions are full-steam ahead and today we’ve got another TV spot, entitled “We are at war,” which is fully in line with director Joss Whedon’s approach to the film as an all-out battle, rather than a bunch of little skirmishes.

Get your war on:

Not a lot of new footage, but with so little time before it hits theaters that’s probably for the best.  I’d like to have a few surprises left.  I feel that Marvel has been very generous in terms of sharing images and footage, but never at the expense of giving away the whole thing.  The longest piece of action we’ve seen is Iron Man blowing the shit out of the villains and then getting caught by the Hulk.  Everything else has been a tease and I’m fine with that.

The anticipation is building; Fanboys are choosing their shirts, hats, and/or costumes for the big day and have their ticket locked away in a safe until the drive to the theater when THE AVENGERS opens on May 4, 2012.
