Michael Bay has a final word on the whole Ninja Turtles business

Michael Bay directing slice

“Hold up fanboys.  I’ll let you finish, but I just wanna say that my version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is gonna be the best thing that ever happened to you.”

Michael Bay and his new alien friends the NINJA TURTLES have been all over the news recently, and in a mostly unenthused/negative/dissatisfied way.  So in what is either an attempt to force fans to “chill” or a desire to explain and reassure, Bay has added this to the heap of things already said on the matter via his blog/forums:

“Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.”

So there you go.  Do with this new (?) information as you will, since things seem to be quite set in stone.  Which is just as well really until we can get a hold of some more general information about the production’s direction.

More as we hear it, of course.
