Joss Whedon addresses Iron Man’s armor in Marvel’s The Avengers

JoBloJoBlo

Director Joss Whedon sat down for an interview with Empire online while in London to oversee the scoring sessions with composer Alan Silvestri for the upcoming THE AVENGERS and addressed one of the key topics that has been racking the brains of fans for months, which boils down to Iron Man being a circle or a triangle.

When asked about the discrepancy, Whedon had this to say:

“There will be more than one suit in the film…’cause they get a lot of wear and tear, honestly.”

He elaborated:

“It’s sort of a tradition that they (Marvel) brought to the table of ‘we like to change it up, we like to see the suits evolve'”.

Of which, Whedon replied:

“Great, then you’re going back in the circle, because the triangle is ass.”

To hear it straight from the horse’s mouth, check out the video below:

So, that should clear up the Iron Man armor debacle for all the fans up-in-arms over what light shape is emitting from his chest.  It’s not that big of a deal to me, but I do have my own preference, which is the circle.  However, it’s not a dealbreaker or anything.  I don’t think we’ll see it in THE AVENGERS, but eventually it would be cool to see some of Tony Stark’s more evolved suits like the Hulkbuster.

You can catch all the Iron Man suits in action when THE AVENGERS opens on May 4th, 2012.
