Get ready for Marvel’s The Avengers with new toys…and cologne?

JoBloJoBlo

UPDATED with new pics. Okay, we’ll get to the cologne bit in a second. First up, the toys. Today, Marvel held a live blog for the release of the first wave of The Avengers 3.25” action figure line and will be supplying some images shortly.

However, a ton of images have already begun to seep online, courtesy of fans visiting local toy stores. Below is a nice line up of images capturing THE AVENGERS action figure line up in all their packaged glory, including a shot of the Hulk figure that was released during the live blog.

Looks pretty good. I’m glad to see Marvel expanding on their product lines, although their 3.25” figures can fall apart pretty easily. They’re like Mr. Glass, the action figure (which you could easily make out of a Sam Jackson Nick Fury figure).

How am I supposed to have massive battles in my living room with the curtains drawn when nobody’s home or watching me if they fall apart every time I pit them against each other?

Just kidding. That never happens. Ever.

So, along with the 3.75” figures we also have an assortment of Mini Muggs and Bobbleheads, all of which embody the film version of each of the characters. Click here to see the full line up.

All right, now let’s talk about this cologne business. I just don’t get it. I don’t understand how the core audience for a film like THE AVENGERS is hankering for a cologne that corresponds with their favorite Avenger. If you want a girlfriend (or boyfriend) it’s probably not best to use this stuff. Also, don’t play with action figures in your living room where people can see.

Either way, you’re gettin’ some cologne. Whether you buy it or not, it’s gonna be there, on the shelf, beckoning to you. I’m all about some action figures, but man, this cologne shit is just out of control.

Expect a slew of more product reveals in the next few months as THE AVENGERS prepares to make you smell pretty on May 4th, 2012.
