THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO has been on a roll with its unconventional marketing campaign. We know we’re being sold to, so make it fresh and interesting! And thankfully, that’s exactly what Fincher and Sony have been doing so far. I mean, just yesterday we were marketed to by being shown how they’re making marketing materials. And it was cool!

Everything shown to us so far has had that dark and dirty edge to it, something first established with the film’s trailers. Today’s international one continues that trend, though it’s essentially a truncated version of the extended 4-minute trailer we saw a couple of weeks ago. Nevertheless, it is excellent. Check it out below!

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO opens December 21st.

Synopsis: One fateful day several years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses and no evidence. Nearly forty years later, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) reluctantly accepts the unusual and seemingly unsolvable assignment of finding out what really happened to Harriet. Genius hacker, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) is drawn into the case and the two form a fragile alliance as they dig into the sinister past of the Vangers and find out just how far they’re prepared to go to protect themselves and each other.
