Clive Owen is an Intruder for 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo

I honestly wasn’t crazy about Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s sequel 28 WEEKS LATER, but I loved his first film INTACTO, about a subculture of people who gamble and trade luck.

Fresnadillo’s next project INTRUDERS may not have rage infection or fortune wagering, but it sounds interesting, if only for the inclusion of Clive Owen as its star.

While details are scarce, the story revolves around an 11-year-old girl who confronts her “childhood demons”, which I’m betting is a more literal than psychological use of the term. Owen will play her father.

The film will also star Daniel Bruhl, recently seen as the Nazi sharpshooter/movie star in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.

Fresnadillo is apparently still attached to direct an adaptation of the fantastic videogame BIOSHOCK, but considering the project’s price tag and the way Universal is shutting down films like Josh Brolin’s CARTEL to save cash, it could be a long while before we ever get to visit Rapture on the big screen.
