Eli Roth has plans

JoBloJoBlo

According to a brand new interview Eli Roth has conducted with MTV, he is on the verge of shooting a big budget action flick that he has so gracefully likened to both TRANSFORMERS and CLOVERFIELD. Lofty aspirations for a director who’s known for his raunchy low budget fare. Here’s what the queen of scream had to say regarding the matter:

It’s going to be something that is really fun with lots of mass destruction. I wanted to do something along the lines of Transformers or Cloverfield that was a little more science fiction-based, and with lots of chaos and mass destruction.

I’m not sure why Roth is so hell bent on always destroying things in his films, but it seems as though he’s ready to graduate from mutilating human bodies and move on to entire cities. When asked who or what the villain might be, he responded cryptically:

I don’t want to say what yet. Once it gets set up, I will let everyone know. It is not aliens or robots or a virus – it’s a little more grounded. But when people hear it they are going to be like ‘That is going to be insane!

You gotta love his unbridled enthusiasm, if nothing else. The cocky director is looking to shoot the film for $80 million, to be directly followed by a feature length version of THANKSGIVING, which he plans on shooting for $5 million. He’s even gone so far as to only offer studios the films as a package; you can’t have one without the other. Eli Roth you are one crude, shrewd, lewd and sometimes nude dude.
