Whenever tragedy strikes, people always like to talk about how “there’s always a silver lining”, perhaps as a way to reconcile that yes, in life bad things do happen. But it’s difficult to find even a spec of silver that lines the shocking and devastating news that 45 year-old actress Natasha Richardson has died.
After a seemingly innocent fall during a ski lesson in Mont Tremblant–a popular resort just outside of Montreal–Richardson felt dizzy. The rest is a series of unfortunate events that have left Liam Neeson a widower, and sons Michael and Daniel without a mother. The actress, who comes from a long line of actors, made a name for herself in films such as THE HANDMAID’S TALE, NELL, and THE COMFORT OF STRANGERS.
Her sudden and tragic death is a stark reminder of the fragility of life. And although it may sound cliche, it’s important to remember that there are more important things to keep mind of, than the next paycheck, the next drink, and the next summer blockbuster.
