Terminator sequel’s 2019 release delayed four months

TERMINATOR franchise creator James Cameron and DEADPOOL director Tim Miller are teaming up to develop a new TERMINATOR sequel that will ignore the events of any Terminator story that Cameron wasn't involved with. TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, TERMINATOR: SALVATION, TERMINATOR: GENISYS, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, they're all being brushed aside so the new film can carry on directly from THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY.

The sequel is on track for a 2019 release, but that release is coming later than originally expected: first set to reach theatres on July 26, 2019, the film has now been pushed back four months to November 22, 2019.

Cameron will be producing the film, which Billy Ray is currently writing. Details on the story have not been revealed, but it has been said that it

could be set in Mexico City and that James Cameron & Tim Miller are seeking an 18-year-old Mexican actress to play the young female lead, Dani Ramos, as well as a Latin actor with fight/stunt background to play the new villain.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will be reprising their roles from previous TERMINATOR films, and Mackenzie Davis recently signed on to play a character "in the vein of Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin". The search is still on for the protagonist Hamilton will be passing the heroine torch to.

I haven't really enjoyed the TERMINATOR films Cameron wasn't involved with, so I don't mind them being ignored / pushed off into their own branches of the multiverse. I don't mind the extra four month wait for the new movie, either, but I am looking forward to seeing how this one will turn out.
