Cool Horror Videos: Alex Mann takes horror to Snapchat and Instagram

Last Updated on August 23, 2025

Writer/director Alex Mann has made a couple cool, short horror films that share some common themes: modern technology, social media, and young women looking at their smartphones while alone in bed.

First up is 3 SECONDS, a short starring Allison Raskin that has already racked up around three million views since being uploaded to YouTube a few months ago. With this one, Mann put a horrific twist on the Snapchat experience:

Allison wakes up to a Snapchat of her sleeping. Who sent it?

Mann has now followed that up with ME2, which takes the horror to Instagram. This one stars Julia Kelly and asks the question,

Is the perfect selfie worth it?

I don’t use Snapchat or Instagram, and after watching Mann’s shorts I’m thinking that letting social media leave me behind may have been a good decision.
