Dan Aykroyd recently joined "Larry King Now" and talked about the long awaited GHOSTBUSTERS 3, which I do believe will happen someday, just not any time soon. While we've been hearing plenty of talk about a third installment for years now and it's starting to become a broken record it's nice to see that they're still very much interested in getting this thing off the ground. With today's filmmaking technology and amazing special effects, the sky is the limit with this one, so hopefully all of this talk will eventually lead us into the theater to see one hell of a film.

Aykroyd discusses some new details regarding the plot where he says:

It’s based upon new research that’s being done in particle physics by the young men and women at Columbia University… Basically there’s research being done that… I can say that the world… our dimension that we live in, our four planes of existence, length, height, width, and time, become threatened by some of the research that is being done. And ghostbusters, new ghostbusters, have to come and some the problem.

While nothing is official just yet it is expected to see Ivan Reitman at the helm with many of the original cast members set to return. Below you'll find the interview where Aykroyd talks about the film as well his thoughts on Bill Murray not wanting to be in it. It's hard for me to imagine a GHOSTBUSTERS flick without Murray so hopefully they can figure out a way to get him on board.
