Today we have our first look at footage from the upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller SNOWPIERCER, coming at us from THE HOST director Joon-Ho Bong and featuring an international cast that includes Chris Evans, Song Kangho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Brewmner, Alison Pill, John Hurt and Ed Harris. This behind the scenes peek is not a huge look at the film (and there aren’t any English subtitles at the moment) but its scale and ambition are evident, and technically the film looks stunning as we see a number of complicated behind the scenes setups and large scale fight sequences. Hopefully we’ll see a trailer for this one dropping on us soon.
Based on the French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige,” SNOWPIERCER is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snow Piercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
