In a surprise move not forecast before today, it has been announced that THE AMERICAN SCREAM, the amusing documentary about “home haunters” that aired exclusively on Chiller in October, is now available on Blu-ray and DVD exclusively at theamericanscreammovie.com. AMERICAN SCREAM is the latest documentary from director Michael Paul Stephenson, following his critically acclaimed featured documentary, BEST WORST MOVIE.

THE AMERICAN SCREAM on DVD will not be available at retailers until Fall 2013, so you might want to hop on this if you want to check out the lovable doc.

The American Scream is a touching documentary that follows three Halloween-obsessed households as they transform their homes into neighbor-terrifying supernatural wonderlands. Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local “home haunters” who’ve devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster making.

I can honestly say that this flick is a must-watch for those of you who are obsessed with Halloween. And if you thnk you do your house up right for the holiday, just wait until you get a load of these peculiar folks.
