Earlier in the spring we told you that a film adaptation of the hit self-published novel WOOL – which takes place in a post-apocalyptic, subterranean world – was in the works, with Ridley and Tony Scott producing. Now it looks like the project has inched closer to getting off the ground.
According to Vulture, it sounds like 20th Century Fox, the studio behind WOOL, is negotiating with THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED director J. Blakeson to helm the sci-fi flick. No further details are provided, but if it proves to be true, it’ll be a major step up for Blakeson, as ALICE CREED is his only credit as director.
Here is the book’s mysterious plot synopsis: They live beneath the earth in a prison of their own making. There is a view of the outside world, a spoiled and rotten world, their forefathers left behind. But this view fades over time, ruined by the toxic airs that kill any who brave them.
So they leave it to the criminals, those who break the rules, and who are sent to cleaning. Why do they do it, these people condemned to death? Sheriff Holston has always wondered. Now he is about to find out.
