You guys remember Jon Knautz’s THE SHRINE right? It’s alright if you don’t considering our last update on this thing was way back in April. But alas today not only am I going to remind you what this shindig is about but I’m also going to pimp out a new trailer! Excited? You should be!
Courtesy of IFC Midnight comes a brand new trailer for the flick, which can be found below and over in our videos section. Natch! Now the trailer offers up a pretty good idea of what we might expect from THE SHRINE. And dare I say this thing is looking pretty twisted? After a young American backpacker goes missing in Europe, and a group of journalists link his disappearance to a remote village in Poland called Alvaina. Upon further investigation, the journalists discover that Alvaina has a history of bizarre cult activity revolving around human sacrifice. Hellbent on discovering the truth, they travel to the small village but quickly find themselves pursued by a mysterious group set on killing them. Forced into the gruesome reality of true survival horror, the journalists soon discover that Alvaina hides a much darker secret than they could ever imagine.
THE SHRINE sports a cast that includes Jack Brooks, Trevor Matthews, Meghan Heffern, Aaron Ashmore, Cindy Sampson (below), Ben Lewis, Connor Stanhope and Laura DeCarteret. Unfortunately there’s no word on when this little diddy might be heading our way but as always as soon as we hear more we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you.
