Do you guys remember Jack Messitt’s MIDNIGHT MOVIE? The slasher hit DVD way back in January of 2009. Evidently that version was cut, as a new version of the film is coming out. The alternate cut will feature extended and never-before-seen scenes, enhanced visual effects and a new score.
MIDNIGHT MOVIE: The Killer Cut, as it’s being dubbed, will have its world premiere this Thursday, May 5 at Majestic Crest Theater in Westwood, CA. Bigfoot Entertainment will then release the new cut of the film on DVD on June 14. The cover art is pictured below.
This disc will feature two exclusive extras – an audio commentary from director/co-writer Jack Messitt and an extensive behind-the-scenes documentary – as well as the special features from the previous DVD – deleted scenes, cast featurette, crew featurette, pick-up day featurette, visual fx featurette, storyboard comparison and trailers.
A midnight screening of a 1970s cult horror film becomes a bloodbath after the members of the audience see one of their friends butchered on the big screen, and quickly surmise that there’s a madman in the theater who seeks to slaughter them all.
