We haven’t heard anything about AMERICAN MARY since it was announced back in December. Casting is now under way, and Katharine Isabelle (GINGER SNAPS, FREDDY VS JASON) has scored the lead role of Mary. Check out an image of her as the character below.

Leah Gibson (ECLIPSE) is rumored to be attached for a role, and Paula Lindberg was previously announced as part of the cast. The film is the second indie feature from Jen and Sylvia Soska (DEAD HOOKERS IN A TRUNK). CJ Wallis is producing for Twisted Twin Studios. Here is the synopsis:

AMERICAN MARY is the story of a medical student named Mary who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries, which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.
