It’s always a really nice treat when one of our readers sends us a super sweet scoop. We really love hearing from you guys in general, and when it’s something nifty like this, it makes it even better.

A reader named “Zack Tow” sent along this report from the Texas Frightmare Weekend, which wrapped up last week. Zack had himself a nice little chat with Doug “Pinhead” Bradley, who spilled the beans on the “lost” NIGHTBREED director’s cut as well as an alternate ending for HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE, a movie I don’t think about too much, but hey, it’s still always cool to hear “what could have been”.

First up, regarding the 2 1/2 hour director’s cut of NIGHTBREED: “”He [Bradley] told me the 2 1/2 hour workprint of Nightbreed isn’t the director’s cut. Bradley also mentioned that some 20 years ago, Barker did submit a director’s cut to Fox. As of today, Clive’s cut remains missing. Bradley hinted that Barker might have to start from the beginning by creating a new version of Nightbreed as the director likely wouldn’t remember every detail of the cut he submitted over twenty years ago.”

Pretty interesting; I’d wager that, even if it’s not Barker’s cut, people will still want to see the longer NIGHTBREED.

Now on to HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE: “Doug told me the first ending that was filmed for Hellraiser: Bloodline. This ending isn’t mentioned anywhere on IMDB. You may already know what the original ending was; if you don’t – read on. So, the satellite/space station turns into the giant lament configuration. Merchant dies alongside with Pinhead to make sure the bloodline was completely severed. Now, this is the part that’s awesome: Doug mentioned a giant hand (God or Satan perhaps?) takes hold of the box. The next shot we see that same box on a seller’s table! Yup, the theme is definitely circular which is reminiscent of ending to the first movie.”

“I asked Doug about the reshot scenes in space and he said there’s a lot of misconception about that. The original script did have the future in space aspect intact.”

The film had a very troubled production, so I imagine there are more differences than just that, but there you have it! Thanks again to Zach Tow for the cool info!
