Wes Anderson is busy assembling the cast for his latest project and as expected, it’s filled with the director’s usual gang of featured players, but there will be a few new additions as well. THR has reported that Margot Robbie has joined the cast of Wes Anderson’s new movie. Plot details about the project are being kept under wraps, but sources tell THR that Robbie will be playing a supporting role in the film.

In addition to Margot Robbie, Wes Anderson’s new movie will also star Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton, and it was also revealed earlier this month that Tom Hanks would be joining up as well. The thought of Tom Hanks joining Wes Anderson’s new movie is rather exciting, but it’s been said that Hanks’ role will be “small and could be cameo-like in nature.” Wes Anderson will naturally be writing and directing and the film is expected to start shooting in Spain later this month.

Wes Anderson’s next film will be The French Dispatch, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month and will be released in theaters on October 22, 2021. The film has been described as “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city.” The ensemble cast of The French Dispatch includes Benicio del Toro, Timothee Chalamet, Elisabeth Moss, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand, Adrian Brody, Owen Wilson, and more. As for Margot Robbie, she can currently be seen starring in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (check out a review right here) and wrapped production on David O. Russell’s as-yet-untitled movie earlier this year. She’s currently in the midst of production on Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, a period drama set in the golden of Hollywood that also stars Brad Pitt.
