Director Asif Akbar’s “edge-of-your-seat crime thriller” The Commando is set to receive a theatrical, digital, and VOD release from Saban Films on January 7th, and today we’re proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film that previews a showdown between the protagonist, played by Michael Jai White (Black Friday), and the villain, played by Mickey Rourke (Sin City). Scripted by Koji Steven Sakai, The Commando has the following synopsis:
An elite DEA agent (White) returns home after a failed mission when his family makes an unexpected discovery in their house – a stash of money worth $3 million. They soon face the danger and threat of a newly released criminal (Rourke) and his crew who will do whatever it takes to retrieve the money – including kidnap the agent’s daughters. Stakes are high and lives are at risk in this head-to-head battle as the agent stops at nothing to protect his family against the money-hungry criminals.

White and Rourke are joined in the cast by Jeff Fahey (Grindhouse: Planet Terror), Aris Mejias (Sol de Medianoche), Gianni Capaldi (Hell on the Border), Brendan Fehr (Roswell), and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (Spenser Confidential).
Akbar and Sakai produced The Commando with Elias Axume, Al Bravo, and Philip Tan.
