Screen Media has unveiled a trailer for their upcoming war film THE OUTPOST. Based on Jake Tapper's best-selling book detailing true events, the film directed by Rod Lurie (THE LAST CASTLE, THE CONTENDER) stars Scott Eastwood (SUICIDE SQUAD, THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS), Caleb Landry Jones (GET OUT) and Orlando Bloom (CARNIVAL ROW, LORD OF THE RINGS) as three soldiers who find themselves coming face-to-face with impossible odds while navigating an active war zone located in Afghanistan.

Here's the official synopsis for THE OUTPOST:

In this military thriller, based on The New York Times best-selling non-fiction book, The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor from CNN’s Jake Tapper, a tiny unit of U.S. soldiers, alone at the remote Combat Outpost Keating, located deep in the valley of three mountains in Afghanistan, battles to defend against an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters in a coordinated attack. The Battle of Kamdesh, as it was known, was the bloodiest American engagement of the Afghan War in 2009 and Bravo Troop 3-61 CAV became one of the most decorated units of the 19-year conflict.

Scott Eastwood portrays Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha and Caleb Landry Jones portrays Specialist Ty Carter (who also appears in the movie), who were awarded the Medal of Honor. Orlando Bloom plays Captain Ben Keating. Director Rod Lurie, himself a former soldier and graduate of West Point, cast several other veterans of the American military in various roles, including Henry Hughes and Daniel Rodriguez.

Oscar-nominated screenwriters Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (THE FIGHTER) adapted the story for screen, which has Millennium Media producing, with producers Paul Merryman, Marc Frydman, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Paul Tamasy and Les Weldon.

In addition to the trailer, Screen Media also released a batch of new stills from the upcoming film:
