A shark rises from the deep on 47 Meters Down: Uncaged poster

47 Meters Down

I was very glad to see director Johannes Roberts' shark thriller 47 METERS DOWN do so well when it was released back in 2017, and I'm very much looking forward to the sequel 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED, which is coming out later this year. My anticipation just got a boost from the release of a creepy and cool poster, which can be seen below and features quite an ugly shark rising from the deep with the intention of chomping down on a young woman.

Written by Roberts and Ernest Riera, who also wrote the first movie together, UNCAGED doesn't look like it will be following any characters from the previous film. It's just keeping the theme of sharks eating people. This time around the story centers on

four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Sistine Stallone, Corinne Foxx, John Corbett, Nia Long, Sophie Nelisse, Brianne Tju, Davi Santos, Kylin Rhambo, and Brec Bassinger star.

Produced by James Harris, Mark Lane, and Robert Jones, with Byron Allen, Carolyn Folks, and Jennifer Lucas serving as executive producers, 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED is scheduled to reach theatres on August 16th.

Hopefully we'll be seeing a full trailer very soon.
