A slice of Splice

JoBloJoBlo

Director Vincenzo Natali made a splash a while back with his low-budget thriller CUBE, and it started to look like his latest project SPLICE was trapped somewhere in that killer hi-tech maze.

While the movie apparently has no US distribution at the moment, we have our first live-action look at the film thanks to Rotten Tomatoes. Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star as scientists who create a new species during their experiments. Unsurprisingly, things don’t turn out well when they blend in some human DNA to animal genes. What initially appears to be a fascinating and strangely beautiful new being ultimately turns into a horrific Cronenberg-style nightmare.
