Anchor Bay Home Entertainment, in conjunction with ABKCO Music and Records, will release Alejandro Jodorowski’s EL TOPO and THE HOLY MOUNTAIN on Blu-ray on April 26. Each of the experimental cult classics received a new, high-definition transfer supervised by Jodorowski, who wrote, directed and stared in both. Check out the cover art below.

In 1969’s EL TOPO, master gunfighter and mystic El Topo attempts to defeat four sharp-shooting rivals on a bizarre path to allegorical self-awareness and resurrection. Special features on the disc include a commentary by Jodorowsky, an interview with Jodorowsky, photo gallery, script excerpts, and the trailer.

In 1973’s THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, The Alchemist assembles a group of people from all walks of life to represent the planets in the solar system. The occult adept’s intention is to put his recruits through strange mystical rites and divest them of their worldly baggage before embarking on a trip to Lotus Island. There they ascend the Holy Mountain to displace the immortal gods who secretly rule the universe. Special features on the disc include a commentary by Jodorowsky, an interview with Jodorowsky, restoration featurette, photo gallery, script excerpts, and the trailer.
