Yale Entertainment has announced that production has wrapped on their “horror thriller with comedic elements” All You Need Is Blood, which stars Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Logan Riley Bruner (Stranger Things), and Eddie Griffin (Undercover Brother). This film marks the feature directorial debut of Cooper Roberts, the Grammy-nominated director of The Dead Weather’s “I Feel Love” music video.

Scripted by Roberts and filmed in New Jersey, All You Need Is Blood has the following synopsis: After a strange meteor lands in his backyard and turns his deadbeat father into a brain-eating zombie, a 16-year-old aspiring director teams up with his friends to create the ultimate student film.

Sounds like a good time to me! The concept of a meteor leading to a zombie outbreak is reminiscent of the 1986 horror comedy classic Night of the Creeps… and we definitely need more movies like Night of the Creeps. (James Wan agrees, which is why the movie is on his remake wish list.)

All You Need Is Blood was produced by Russell Posternak, alongside Yale Entertainment’s Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, and Jesse Korman. Yale’s Michael J. Rothstein serves as an executive producer with Jason Kringstein, Scott Levenson, Clay Pecorin, Russell Geyser, Brian S. Unger, Eric Broughton, and Roz Rothstein.

Korman provided the following statement: “All You Need Is Blood is a zombie film but I love it because of how much heart it has. At its core, this story has so many meaningful themes it’s exploring, buried under the carnage.

The sales banner Great Escape, headed up by Nick Donnermeyer, will be handling the worldwide distribution sales. Donnermeyer had this to say: “Cooper has a tremendously assured vision with this project. He’s gotten some great performances from his actors and the production just looks fantastic overall—all the more impressive for a debut feature.

We’ll share updates on All You Need Is Blood as it makes its way out into the world. Does this movie sound interesting to you? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
