Animals may watch this teaser for The Secret Life of Pets when left alone

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

If you've ever wondered what your pets get up to once to leave the house, this teaser for Illumination Entertainment's THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS may have the answer. Illumination Entertainment is the same studio that brought you DESPICABLE ME, HOP, DR. SEUSS' THE LORAX, DESPICABLE ME 2, and the upcoming MINIONS.

I realize that it's just a first teaser, but it seems a little odd to leave Kevin Hart out of it entirely. He'll be playing a bunny named Snowball for those of you who are interested. In addition to Kevin Hart, the cast of THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS includes Louis C.K.,Eric Stonestreet, Albert Brooks, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell, Ellie Kemper, Jenny Slate, and Dana Carvey.

What is THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS all about? I'll let the synopsis do the heavy lifting:

Taking place in a Manhattan apartment building, Max's life as a favorite pet is turned upside down, when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. They have to put their quarrels behind, when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all happy-owned pets and their owners.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS is set for a July 8, 2016 release.
