Two years have gone by since the very cool “ultra violent Home Alone” thriller Becky (WATCH IT HERE) came out and blew us away – as you can see from the 9/10 review the film received from our own The Iceman. That movie left me hoping that star Lulu Wilson (Annabelle: Creation) would come back for a sequel… and now it has happened! A press release confirms that production recently wrapped in New Jersey on the shot-in-secret sequel Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky, as Lulu Wilson returns as the title character, this time joined in the cast by Seann William Scott (American Pie).

While the first Becky was directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion from a screenplay by Nick Morris, Ruckus Skye, and Lane Skye, Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky has been written and directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote. Angel and Coote previously directed the Netflix thrillers The Open House and Hypnotic. The sequel has the following synopsis:

After living off the grid for two years, Becky finds herself going toe to toe against Darryl, the leader of a fascist organization, on the eve of an organized attack.

Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky was produced by Russ Posternak of Post Film; Raphael Margules, JD Lifshitz, and Tracy Rosenblum of BoulderLight Pictures; Chadd Harbold; and Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman. Quiver Distribution’s Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman, and Larry Greenberg serve as executive producers alongside Wilson, Scott, Nick Morris, Jonathan Millot, and Cary Murnion. The production was financed by Media Finance Capital and Rainmaker Films.

Posternak provided the following statement:

Audiences have been asking for a Becky sequel since the film’s 2020 premiere and we’re proud to work with Quiver again to extend the franchise. Our goal was to up the ante from Becky 1 in every way imaginable and with Matt and Suz’s wild script and Seann William Scott’s turn as our terrifying villain opposite Lulu’s Becky, we know we’ll deliver the thrills, gore and heart that audiences loved in the original.”

Meyerowitz and Sackman added:

We’re thrilled to bring back our favorite young heroine in Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky. Brought to life by the fantastic Lulu Wilson, audiences will continue to root for Becky as she fights back against new evil forces.”

Quiver Distribution holds the worldwide rights to Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky, and they’re planning to give the film an early 2023 release. I’m hyped!
