Beetlejuice: Documentary for the Recently Deceased gets a trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I have been trying to figure out what the first movie I ever saw in the theatre was. For a while, I thought it was the Arnold Schwarzenegger / Danny DeVito film TWINS, but then I realized that BEETLEJUICE came out nine months earlier, and I'm pretty sure I saw BEETLEJUICE on the big screen when I was four years old. So Tim Burton's film may actually have been my first theatrical experience. Whether it was or not, the movie does hold a special place in my heart, so I'm glad to see it's being celebrated with the upcoming documentary DOCUMENTARY FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED: THE MAKING OF BEETLEJUICE.

Directed by Fred China, DOCUMENTARY FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED was produced by Lee Leshen and The Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg. The documentary will

cover all the aspects of the Beetlejuice production: from the filming in East Corinth, Vermont, to the stop motion and special effects work, and will include a series of exclusive interviews with cast and crew, as well as rare behind the scenes footage acquired by the production.

A trailer for the documentary has been released online and can be seen below, along with the poster art.

Production on DOCUMENTARY FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED has been temporarily shut down during the current pandemic, but we'll let you know when there's further news.
