Blade Runner 2 will open in January of 2018

Blade Runner 2? Harrison Ford returning? Ryan Gosling starring? Denis Villeneuve directing? Sounds like a match made in heaven! Ridley Scott has been very vocal about the project thus far, even divulging what the first scene of the film is, but now we have a date we can mark on our calendars. BLADE RUNNER 2 will be up on silver screens come January 12, 2018.

The idea of sequel-izing BLADE RUNNER seems ridiculous on paper, but when you look at the cast and the talent involved, it's hard not to give in. Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins have been creating some great work lately, especially taking SICARIO into consideration. As much as I would have appreciated Ridley Scott returning to this universe, I'm more excited about new blood taking this universe and running with it. Besides, Harrison Ford has had a pretty good track record regarding doing sci-fi sequels to films he did long ago!

BLADE RUNNER 2 hits theaters on January 12, 2018.

Holy hell, do I love the opening of BLADE RUNNER!
