A little over two months it’s been since writing about Brad Bird’s 1952, a CLOSE ENCOUNTERS style alien yarn that has George Clooney attached to star. With a script from Damon Lindelof, who has transformed from TV writer to that for feature films, the flick has been given a holiday release in 2014.

And that date is December 19, 2014.

No plot details have been given, but suffice it to say, if Clooney, who chooses his projects wiser than anyone these days, dug the script, we should expect great things. Bird’s success with RATATOUILLE and GHOST PROTOCOL certainly helps solidify such an expectation.

It’s worth noting that Bird is also attached to helm another titular year, 1906, the infamous SF earthquake epoch. Strange to say it, but it looks like 1906 will come after 1952.

Make a note, 1952 is set for December 19, 2014.

GHOST PROTOCOL star Paula Patton!
