When I clicked on the link to watch this trailer I had no idea what to expect. I figured I’d give it a shot, see if it may be of interest to anyone. Then, it started playing and by the time it was over I had no idea what the f*ck I just saw. And, honestly, I LOVE when that happens. I don’t know if this trailer for THE DETAILS means the movie is as batshit crazy or weird as it seems, but you can color me intrigued.
Your WTF moment for today:
The film stars Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Kerry Washington, Sam Trammell, and Dennis Haysbert in a black comedy in suburbia that seems to tackle such lovely subjects as infidelity, blackmail, and murder. All without having anything to do with Joel and Ethan Coen. The pic is directed by Jacob Aaron Estes (MEAN CREEK) and debuted at Sundance last year (Bumbray’s review here) and has since evaporated. Now, it’s back and ready for release, but man is it going to be a tough sell to wide audiences.
Here’s the synopsis:
When a family of raccoons discover worms living underneath the sod in Jeff and Nealy’s backyard, this pest problem begins a darkly comic and wild chain reaction of domestic tension, infidelity and murder.
So, pretty much, I need to see this movie, if only to satisfy my intense curiosity. We’ll all have our chance as the film is slated to drop pianos on November 2, 2012.
