A schmoe recently pointed out our woeful disregard for the latest happy haps on CHOKE, the Clark Gregg-directed feature adaptation of the deliciously twisted Chuck Palahniuk novel of the same name. And the truth is, we have been neglecting the film but we’re about to correct that right about now. First of all, as some of you may have heard, the film sold at Sundance to Fox Searchlight for a cool five million bucks. Secondly, they’ve already set a release date of August 1st for the film. It’ll initially have a limited release and will hopefully eventually expand to other cities. In it, Sam Rockwell stars as a sex addicted med school dropout who does Revolutionary War re-enactments by day and chokes in restaurants at night to prey on people’s sympathies in order to pay for his nutty mother’s medical bills. Thanks to Jamie for the heads up and the linkage!
