Channel 4 News Team Assemble!

For those that were hoping to see Christina Applegate and Will Ferrell go at it again in ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, you may now rest easy, as Applegate is confirmed to reprise her role as Veronica Corningstone, the once-rival/lover of Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy.

I think it’s great to see the whole cast reassembling for the flick, which is still currently being written and prepped to go before the lens under the guidance of original director Adam McKay.

It’s unclear how large or small Applegate’s role will be in the sequel as McKay has hinted at the possibility of Corningstone and Burgundy being divorced and involved in a custody battle.  However, with everything still early in the game, anything could change and likely will as they progress through the script and filming begins.

Along with Ferrell and Applegate, other returning castmembers include Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, and David Koechner in their original roles.  Expect a bevy of guest stars to come flooding in once this bad boy gets fully underway.

ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES sometime in 2013.
