'Twas several weeks before Christmas when Netflix unwrapped an official trailer for THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the streamer's 2018 holiday romp. Starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, and Goldie Hawn as Mrs. Claus, the new film promises a spirited adventure for boys and girls of all ages, regardless of if you're naughty or nice.

Here's the official synopsis, per Netflix:

It’s been two years since siblings Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis) saved Christmas, and a lot has changed. Kate, now a cynical teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend and his son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). Unwilling to accept this new version of her family, Kate decides to run away. But when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate and Jack are unexpectedly pulled into a new adventure with Santa Claus (Kurt Russell). Written and directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter) and co-starring Goldie Hawn, THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES 2 is an action-packed adventure for the whole family that’s full of heart, humor, and holiday spirit.

Whoa, whoa whoa! Just who does this Belsnickel (Hunt for the Wilderpeople's Julian Dennison) character think he is? Plotting to destroy the North Star and, by extension, the Christmas holiday as a whole? Who would do such a thing? How much coal does a person have to receive in their stocking to make them want to ruin Christmas? Belsnickel had better present us with a damn good reason for taking such steps against what is supposed to be the jolliest of holidays or I'm going to flip every table in Santa's workshop.

Sorry, folks. I tend to get a bit heated at the thought of anyone attacking Christmas, be the Grinch, Oogie Boogie, Stripe, Ebenezer Scrooge, the Wet Bandits, or even Hans Gruber. I'll have none of it, and I'm sure that Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their companions will do everything in their power to save the sacred holiday before it all goes up in a puff of chimney smoke.

THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES 2 is set to arrive on Netflix on November 25.
