At the beginning of the month there was a rumor circulating that Michael B. Jordan (CHRONICLE, HBO's The Sopranos and The Wire) was in talks to play the Human Torch in Josh Trank's reboot of THE FANTASTIC FOUR. There hasn't been any news confirming or denying the controversial rumor since but Empire Online caught up with Michael B. Jordan at the Cannes Film Festival (he stars in the film FRUITVALE STATION as shooting victim Oscar Grant) and asked the actor if he was going to be "painting a big blue four on his chest anytime soon." His response?
Not a very good poker face, eh? I wouldn't say that Michael B. Jordan is set in stone to play Johnny Storm but it definitely looks like he's at least been contacted about it and if I was a betting man I'd say there's a very high chance that Jordan he does end up in THE FANTASTIC FOUR. He's an interesting choice that might piss off a lot of fans of the comics but I think we should at least give the guy a shot.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR is scheduled to be released on March 6th, 2015.
