Is Michael B. Jordan set to flame on for Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot?

Casting rumors are "heating up" for Josh Trank's reboot of FANTASTIC FOUR, with the latest rumor coming in that CHRONICLE star Michael B. Jordan could be set to "flame on" as Johnny Storm a.k.a. The Human Torch. The role was previously held by the current Captain America, Chris Evans, and has yet to have a black actor take on the role. The choice to cast a different race will likely ruffle some feathers, but I can see both sides of the argument. The "why" and "why not?" can both be pleaded equally, but in the end I think it comes down to the strength of the actor.

Jordan could potentially join the as-yet-to-be-confirmed Allison Williams, who is also rumored for a role, potentially that of Sue Storm, a.k.a. The Invisible Woman, which would make a bit of a conundrum given that they are brother and sister. Very little is known about what direction Fox or Trank are going with the reboot, but regardless of age, ethnicity, or anything else, I'm not exactly blown away by these choices. There's potential, but they're both way too unproven to get excited about. At this stage in the game, I'm more intrigued by Trank, but he still has to prove that he can capture lightning in a bottle a second time as well.

FANTASTIC FOUR is set for release on March 6, 2015.
