Chucky takes out Annabelle in new Child’s Play poster

Child's Play, Annabelle Comes Home

On the road to the release of CHILD'S PLAY, a series of posters were unleashed which found Chucky (Mark Hamill) massacring many of the characters of TOY STORY (slightly edited to avoid pesky copyrights of course), but Chucky isn't the only murderous doll who audiences will have to contend with this month. ANNABELLE COMES HOME, the latest film in THE CONJURING franchise, will hit theaters later this week, which has led to many comparisons between the haunted doll and her more talkative rival.

A new CHILD'S PLAY poster has been released which finds Chucky taking a stab at Annabelle. Might want to watch your back, Chuck.

CHILD'S PLAY follows Andy (Gabriel Bateman), a lonely boy who is given a high-tech Buddi doll by his mother (Aubrey Plaza), who is unaware of the doll's more sinister nature. As for ANNABELLE COMES HOME, the upcoming spin-off find Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga) locking Annabelle in their room of haunted artifacts, but after the case is unlocked, the possessed doll acts as a beacon for other evil spirits to emerge and wreck havoc.

As for who would win in a fight between Chucky and Annabelle, well, CHILD'S PLAY producer Seth Grahame-Smith had some fighting words while speaking with Entertainment Weekly. "Chucky, 10 times out of 10, with all due respect to Annabelle," said Grahame-Smith. "I love Gary Dauberman, but Chucky would kick Annabelle’s ass." ANNABELLE COMES HOME director Gary Dauberman is slightly more diplomatic, saying, "You know, I’m really excited to see that movie, but it feels like Chucky would have to work hard. Annabelle’s very good at just sitting and having other people do her bidding. The demon would, for sure, win. But it would be a f—ing great fight, I’ll say that."

CHILD'S PLAY is now playing in theaters (check out our own Chris Bumbray's review), with ANNABELLE COMES HOME (check out a review from our own Matt Rooney) hitting theaters on June 26th.
